Insurance Information

Contracts between the insurance companies and our office change continually. You may call our office to see if your insurance is currently accepted. We are NOT contracted with Medi-Cal. You will be notified by mail if we no longer accept your insurance. You have the option at that time to continue treatment with Dr. Secor by accepting all financial responsibility for your medical treatment or you may have your care and medical records transferred to a physician of your choice.

Appointments

Please call the office to make an appointment in advance. Kindly have your insurance card available when you make the appointment. Appointments cannot be confirmed until insurance coverage is verified. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us as far in advance as possible so we may use that time to see another patient in need of care. We make a sincere effort to adhere to our appointments schedule and appreciate your patience if we are late due to emergencies or hospital surgery. In order to provide our patients with timely scheduling options, the following office policies are now in place at Dr. Secor’s office. Please become familiar with them.

Changes to Appointments: We require a minimum of 24-hours notice to change the time or date of your appointment. Please contact the scheduling desk to request a change. If you are delayed and cannot be on time for your appointment kindly call the office. Please be aware that it may not be possible to see Dr. Secor that same day however, we will make every effort to do so.

Cancellations and No Shows: Patients will be charged $25.00 for each "No Show" or cancellation not made at least 24-hrs before the scheduled appointment.

What to Bring to Your Visit

* Your X-rays, MRI results and/or any medical report available
* Some insurance carriers require you to bring a referral or authorization to your visit before treatment is given. It is your responsibility to insure that we have this authorization. Please check with your carrier.
* Your insurance card
* Your co-payment or coinsurance

Fees & Payments

We request payment for all office services at the time they are rendered. All co-pays and coinsurance payments are due at the time of your visit. Patients will not be seen unless their accounts are considered current. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. As a courtesy to you, if we are contracted with your insurance company, we will bill them. However, payment is the patient's responsibility. Any amount not received from the insurance company becomes the patient responsibility and is due and payable immediately. If we are not contracted with your insurance company payment in full for services rendered is collected at the completion of your office visit. We will supply you with a conforming copy of the medical superbill that may be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement by the patient. We will help in any way we can to assist you in handling claims.

Prescriptions & Renewals

If you have a prescription that needs to be refilled, please call the pharmacy that last filled your medication at least 4 days before you will need the medication. All prescriptions are processed electronically through your pharmacy, we do not process phone requests. If you have not seen the doctor for more than 90 days, you will need to schedule an appointment to see the doctor before a prescription is refilled. This is a state mandated regulation.
